Waste Minimisation Summit |
We attended the City of Cape Town's Waste Minimisation Summit on 11 March 2009. The summit was held just a day after our new South African Waste Management Act was gazetted. For the first time our legislation focuses on waste minimization. Minimisation is now so key to waste management that it is even mentioned in the preamble to our new Act. The waste minimisation summit highlighted, yet again, that our waste is growing faster than our economy (at 7% per annum). We all have to get involved. The Kanana Football Team all Kitted Out |
The FullCycle team has sponsored the Kanana Football Club's brand-new uniform. The team received their kits around mid-March and sent us some great photos as a thank you gesture. The Kanana Football Club has been running since November 2008, and was started by three members of the Masiphumelele community. Thembelani Dumo and Siyanda Sopaqa jointly run the soccer club. They have both attended coach training in Knysna, which combined normal soccer coaching skills with HIV awareness for youths. This new kit is the first proper uniform they've worn as a team. They train every day of the week between 6 and 8 pm at the Fish Eagle Park field, off Kommetjie Road |
