We joined the Toad Nuts on their patrol on Friday night 7 August and Monday night 9 August. Toad Nuts is a group of volunteers based in Noordhoek established to save the endangered Western Cape Leopard Toad. The Western Cape Leopard Toads breed during the rainy season and are now embarking on their annual migration to the local ponds. The Toad Nuts need volunteers to help the toads cross roads to their breeding grounds safely. Volunteers also record gender, size and location of the toads. If you are interested contact Suzie on 082 476 1016 and if you can't go on the patrols, then please slow down on rainy nights, as this is when they are usually crossing the roads.
