The Worm Grubber is the perfect tool for fluffing up the bedding, and mixing aerating the upper layers. The thin, pointed and widely spaced tines of the Grubber cause minimum disturbance and potential for trauma to the earthworms. We have fine-tuned the shape of the tines for ease of use - and maximum results for minimum effort. Hand forks and spades have a cutting action that make them unsuitable for use in a worm bin. The pointed tines of the Grubber are perfect for aerating and mixing the bedding and upper layers. A grubber will make looking after for your earthworms a breeze, preventing potential problems and making your worm bin a cosy home for your worms. Using the Grubber involves gently pushing the tines into the bedding or vermicompost at an angle and then applying a twist of the wrist that pushes the end of the handle down, bringing the tines upward. The tines should them be withdrawn pack up through the channels or loose material. When done correctly, this action gently lifts and breaks up the structure without dragging the tines through the bedding and vermicompost. Using the Grubber means that you never have to get your hands dirty (unless you want to of course!), and its expoxy coated metal construction makes it tough and durable. Let us know if you want to include the Grubber in your worm bin purchase - it can be included in a Can-O-Worms or Worm Factory shipment with no additional shipping cost.
